Mieli Lietuvos žmonės,

sveikinu Jus su Valstybės diena!

Liepos 6-oji mums leidžia mintimis grįžti į Lietuvos ištakas – lemtingą akimirką, kai įsibėgėjo mūsų bendros istorijos tėkmė.

Kartu su karaliumi Mindaugu pirmąkart įžengę į Vakarus, iki šiol judame pasirinktu keliu. Išaugę ir subrendę Europos valstybių šeimoje, mes liekame atviri tiems, kurie myli laisvę ir laikosi įstatymų.

Istorija mus moko teisingų pasirinkimų: puoselėti vienybę ir savitarpio supratimą, tiesti vienas kitam ranką, o ne atstumti, kartu siekti to, kas atrodo drąsu ir sunkiai pasiekiama.

Kartais tereikia išdrįsti. Todėl šiandien kviečiu: dažniau didžiuokimės tuo, kas jau pasiekta, ir drąsiai keiskime tai, kas mums Lietuvoje nepatinka.

Visi esame istorijos kūrėjai. Tai reiškia: mums nieko nėra neįmanomo!

Dear Fellow People of Lithuania,

Happy State Day to everyone!

July 6 takes us back to the roots of our country that very decisive moment where the stream of our shared history began.

We entered the West with King Mindaugas for the first time and we keep moving along the chosen path. Raised and nurtured in the family of European nations we remain open to those who cherish freedom and obey the law.

History teaches us to make the right choices: to foster unity and mutual understanding, reach out to each other rather than repel, and work together for what seems bold and hard to achieve.

We just have to be daring enough. Therefore, I encourage you today: let us be proud of what has been achieved and let us boldly change the things we do not like.

We are all architects of Lithuania’s history. That means there is nothing impossible for us.
